Out of hours care is provided by Dorset Emergency Care Service (DECS). This service, commissioned by the Primary Care Trust is staffed by doctors - mainly Local GPs - and Emergency Care Practitioners (ECPs) who work from the new Dorset County Hospital to give out of hours advice and medical care for urgent problems. You may be asked to attend the treatment centre at the hospital but if you are too unwell to travel the doctor or Emergency Care Practitioners may visit you at home.
To contact DECS ring the surgery as usual and you will be directed to the number to telephone.
Our urgent calls are taken by the DECS service every day from 6.30pm to 8.00am, and all day Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.
To get medical help at any time please ring
Dorchester (01305) 251128
Have a pen and paper ready.
Out of hours you will be asked to make a second phone call and then you will be able to speak to the answering service operator.
