British Hypertension Society (BHS) Approved Blood Pressure measurement devices

Below are listed the blood pressure measuring devices that have been tested according to the BHS protocol, and have met the BHS criteria*. We have not listed devices that have not been tested by the protocol nor those that have been tested and failed to meet the criteria.

We strongly advise you not to buy or use any device that is not listed below as the results may be unreliable.

If you wish to buy your own device a note from your GP may enable you to avoid paying the VAT.

* To meet the BHS criteria devices must achieve a minimum B grade for both systolic and diastolic measurements. Grade A denotes greatest agreement with mercury standard and D denotes least agreement.
